Revitalising 4-6 Darley Street: A Modern Retail Transformation
Located in the heart of Bradford City Centre, FAUM was appointed to restore and modernise 4-6 Darley Street, transforming it into a functional commercial space while preserving its historic character. Adjacent to the new Darley Street Market, the project aims to create a sustainable retail building that aligns with Bradford’s vision for its central area.
The design enhances the weathered façade, re-cladding the ground-floor shopfront to blend traditional and modern styles. New windows improve insulation, while updated signage ensures clear unit access. The building will be divided into two commercial units, with Unit 1 spanning the basement and ground floor, and Unit 2 occupying the upper floors with lift access for full accessibility.
Drawing inspiration from Bradford’s retail streetscape, the renovation balances heritage with contemporary elements, revitalising the building for future tenants and the city’s evolving identity.
